SW Healthcare feels that practice managers meetings offer an ideal forum to now truly explore and exploit the opportunities afforded by collaborative working across our surgeries. Through consultation with the practice managers we have now defined the key initial areas for practice support over the forthcoming months:
1) Mandatory training: SW Healthcare is planning to train our own ‘Link-trainers’to deliver this education to individual surgeries, localities or clusters as necessary, starting initially with CPR teaching. Longer term we aspire to offer this training to other organisations and tag on further modules to cover other subjects.
2) Safeguarding Training: We have opened a dialogue with Ellen Footman, designated nurse for safeguarding across all of the Worcestershire CCGs, to offer support in delivering and structuring future training and book delegates onto these courses directly on behalf of our surgeries.
3) IT Infrastructure: SW Healthcare aims to become the central guardian of patient data for all of our 32 surgeries. This affords a number of opportunities including the ability to search/collate data and process claims for surgeries centrally, as well as more collaborative working.
